Dr. Majmundar earned her medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine and refined her expertise during a psychiatry residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in Manhattan, New York, where she also served as Chief Resident.

In addition to her work in private practice in New York City and Ridgewood, NJ, she previously held the roles of Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Associate Director of the Psychiatric Emergency Room at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. She also worked on a Dual Diagnosis Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at the Mount Sinai Behavioral Health Center, gaining extensive experience in treating individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. She continues to practice as an attending psychiatrist within the Mount Health System.

Dr. Majmundar’s passion for mental health extends beyond borders. She has worked in diverse international settings, providing care to individuals from all walks of life. This includes medical work in Guatemala, Ecuador, and India, where she engaged with a variety of cultural perspectives on mental health. Her deep commitment to breaking down the stigmas and barriers surrounding psychiatry continues to guide her work every day.
